If you are reading this article, the website you visited is probably not legitimate. Unfortunately, there has been an increasing amount of websites that take our images and set up a website that has the look and feel of MountainHardwear.com. These sites are run by scammers who will charge your credit card and then either: send you counterfeit Mountain Hardwear products, send you some totally unrelated product, or just send you nothing. No matter which avenue they take, they will ignore your effort to contact them, and you will have to convince your credit card provider to cancel the charge.
Here are some tips to tell if the website you have found selling our Mountain Hardwear product is a legitimate site:
- Is it an authorized store listed on our store locator page?
- Is the URL suspect? www.MountainHardwear.com is the only Mountain Hardwear online store. We do not have an outlet or discount shop online.
- If the URL you are going to that has "outlet", "discount", "store", "clearance", or "official" or other words attached to the Mountain Hardwear name is fake.
- If the URL you are going to that has "outlet", "discount", "store", "clearance", or "official" or other words attached to the Mountain Hardwear name is fake.
- The contact number for the website lists something different than (877) 927-5649.
- The contact email is some form of commercial email provider (live.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com, etc.) versus our corporate email domain.
- The wording on the site does not make sense or is written poorly especially when it comes to shipping, refunds, or the product copy.
- As always, if the price looks too good to be true, it probably is.
